Dr. Jess Kowalski, PT, DPT, PCS
Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy
Dr. Jess Kowalski earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in 2008, followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in 2012. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy (PCS) and a certified Level 1 and Level 2 Theratog Fitter.
With over 13 years of experience, Dr. Kowalski has worked in a wide variety of pediatric settings, including early intervention, inpatient, outpatient, private practice, aquatics, and the school-based setting. Her passion for maternal and pediatric physical therapy extends to education, as she has taught coursework at Grand Valley State University and Baker College, with courses on Lifespan Motor Development and Pediatric Management. Dr. Kowalski has also taught continuing education courses focused on Idiopathic Toe Walking and School-Based Pediatric Practice.
Her professional interests include clinical education, professional development, and utilizing a multi-system approach to understanding and treating motor dysfunction in children. Dr. Kowalski is also the Chair and co-founding member of the Pediatric Special Interest Group for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Michigan Chapter. She has presented at conferences, collaborated with therapists nationwide to develop content for APTA Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy, and serves as an article reviewer for the Cerebral Palsy Mobility Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Dr. Kowalski's diverse experience and commitment to advancing maternal and pediatric physical therapy through education and evidence-based practice, makes her a dedicated advocate for the field and an invaluable resource for both clients and colleagues.
